Group Fitness
Do you want to get in shape in a friendly, motivated environment, with qualified staff? Then come try out our exciting group fitness classes - There is a wide range of classes to choose from whether you want to improve your flexability, muscle tone, cardiovascular conditioning or strength! We have classes that cater to all fitness levels!
Timetable
All group fitness classes are one hour in length with the exception of Heartmovesand Aqua which is 45 minutes. Dry Fitness classes are held in the court area and Aqua classes are held in the 25M pool. Please arrive 15 minutes early for your class to ensure that you are ready to start when the class begins.
Participants will not be admitted into classes after the warm up has commenced. Proper white, non-marking shoes must be worn at all times in the court area.

Aqua Aerobics |
A great workout for any fitness level. Low-impact cardiovascular activity with the benefits of an all over body workout. |

Boxfit |
A moderate to intense full body workout designed to get your heart pumping! A combination of punching moves focuses on increasing strength, speed, agility and hand-eye coordination. |

Combo |
A moderate combination class. Good for beginner to intermediate fitness levels. Combines aspects of different classes such as powerbar and step. |

Powerbar |
Designed for all fitness levels. Incorporates free weights, focuses on improving strength & tone. |

Heartmoves |
Heart Foundation Heartmoves is a gentle physical activity program ideal for older adults, adults managing chronic health conditions or for those individuals getting back into exercise. |

Zumba |
An exhilarating, calorie burning latin inspired dance fitness class suitable for all participants. |

Zumbatomic for Kids |
Designed exclusively for kids (ages 4-12), Zumbatomic classes are rockin', high-energy fitness-parties packed with specially choreographed, kid-friendly routines and all the music kids love, like hip-hop, reggaeton, cumbia and more. Duration 30 minutes |
Group Fitness Conditions of Entry
- Blacktown City Council advises all participants to seek medical advice before entering any exercise program.
- All injuries, conditions and ailments past and present must be communicated to the fitness instructor prior to the commencement of each class and exercise modifications will be provided where necessary.
- Workout at a low intensity on your first visit and concentrate on learning the exercises properly. Be sure to limit yourself to a comfortable pace.
- Non-swimmers are welcomed to aqua classes however they are required to inform the instructor of this prior to commencement of session.
- Participants must be over the age of 16 years to participate in this program.
- Participants will only be accepted into the class if they arrive within 10 minutes of the class starting after this point you will not be permitted entry as the warm up phase of the program has ceased and missing this component can increase the chances of injury.
- We recommend that all participants wear comfortable and appropriating sporting attire including enclosed sports shoes and stay well hydrated throughout all classes including aqua.
- Emerton Leisure Centre advises that in the interest of public health and safety, only recognised swimwear must beworn when you swim at the centre. Coloured Clothing /undergarments ruin our water quality and can cause skinirritations. If you do not wear appropriate swimwear you will be asked to leave the water. What constitutes appropriate swimwear? It includes, swimmers, rash shirts and board shorts. We have made a concession and will allow PLAIN white T-shirts strictly no other street clothing is allowed to be worn in the water.
- Emerton Leisure Centre, Blacktown City Council and Royal Life Saving, proudly support the Watch Around Water Campaign. Watch Around Water requires all children under the age of 5 years to wear a Watch Around Water wristband issued at reception and be within arm's reach of a parent/guardian over 18 years at all times. Children aged from 6-9 years must be supervised by an adult (over 18yrs) while in the pool area of the centre at all times. The adult must be actively supervising and their view cannot be obstructed. Patrons who do not follow the Watch Around Water Guidelines will be asked to leave the facility.
- Participants under the influence or suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to enter any of our fitness classes.
- All participants are required to adhere to Emerton Leisure Centre's Conditions of Entry. Contraindication to these rules may result in the individual being excluded from the centre.
