Free Health Assessments for Men!

Emerton Leisure Centre, Jersey Road, Emerton

Emerton Leisure Centre will celebrate International Men's Health Week on Saturday, June 20 with free health assessments for men.

The FREE Health Assessments during International Men's Health Week are an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of men's health and encourage men of all ages to regularly monitor their physical condition.

The assessments will be conducted by our experienced and professional fitness staff and include height, weight, BMI (body mass index), girth measurements, abdominal strength test, cardiovascular fitness test, muscular endurance test and blood pressure.

More than 40 percent of Australian men over 40 years suffer serious health problems such as diabetes and heart disease, Internal Men's Health Week is a chance for men to focus on their health.

Men have a lower life expectancy than women. Men under 75 years are almost three times more likely to die from coronary heart disease, stroke and vascular disease than women in the same age group.

There are biological, social and environmental reasons for mortality differences. Men have increased lifestyle risk factors such as smoking and poor diet, and are less likely to seek help in response to symptoms and illness, have a higher exposure employment related hazards, and are more likely to engage in risk-taking activities than women.

So come on be a man and get your FREE health assessment at Emerton Leisure Centre. There's no time like the present BOOK NOW!!! Bookings are essential and can be made by contacting the Centre on 9628 7016.
