  Emerton Leisure Centre was awarded the 2008 NSW Sports Safety Award for Outstanding Education and Promotion of Safe Sports Practices at the NSW Sports Safety Awards on Friday, November 14, 2008. The award recognises Emerton Leisure Centres achievements in the Waterwise Indigenous Aquatic Education Project. The project is a water safety initiative designed to improve and engage the health and wellbeing of the local Indigenous community.

• 05/05/2009 Australia's Biggest Morning Tea

  Everyone is invited along to Emerton Leisure Centre on Thursday, May 28 for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. From 10am – 12noon, visitors can enjoy a delicious morning tea while helping raise money to find a cure for cancer. All you need to bring is a smile, a gold coin donation and a delicious snack to share. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided free for the event.

  Emerton Leisure Centre will celebrate International Men’s Health Week on Saturday, June 20 with free health assessments for men. The FREE Health Assessments during International Men’s Health Week are an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of men’s health and encourage men of all ages to regularly monitor their physical condition.

  Emerton Leisure Centre will kick start its 2009 Boot Camp schedule on Monday, March 9, 2009 for five weeks on Monday and Wednesday nights between 6.30pm – 7.30pm in the grounds of Emerton Leisure Centre.
