    Emerton Leisure Centre will celebrate NAIDOC Week on Wednesday, 6 July with a Family Fun Day between 12noon and 3pm. NAIDOC Week is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an opportunity to recognise the contributions of Indigenous Australians in various fields.

    May is non-stop at Emerton Leisure Centre and is definitely the place to be if you want to get fit, active and healthy! First up, the Zumba phenomenon has arrived with the Centre launching the world wide dance fitness class on Wednesday May 18 at 9.30am with a free introductory class.

    Emerton Leisure Centre will host a Summer Pool Party on Wednesday, January 19 between 11am – 4pm as part of a Youth Corroboree program for Aboriginal and Torres Straits Islander young people. The Summer Pool Party is the first in a series of Youth Corroboree free workshops and opportunities across Blacktown City for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

    Emerton Leisure Centre is excited to announce the introduction of crèche facilities at the Centre from Monday, February 7, 2011. The new crèche named – Sea Stars Creche, will give parents and caregivers the opportunity to participate in health and recreation based programs and services, while their child is looked after by trained professionals.

    Emerton Leisure Centre was awarded the 2008 NSW Sports Safety Award for Outstanding Education and Promotion of Safe Sports Practices at the NSW Sports Safety Awards on Friday, November 14, 2008. The award recognises Emerton Leisure Centres achievements in the Waterwise Indigenous Aquatic Education Project. The project is a water safety initiative designed to improve and engage the health and wellbeing of the local Indigenous community.

    Everyone is invited along to Emerton Leisure Centre on Thursday, May 28 for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. From 10am – 12noon, visitors can enjoy a delicious morning tea while helping raise money to find a cure for cancer. All you need to bring is a smile, a gold coin donation and a delicious snack to share. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided free for the event.

    Ray Moss became our first 100k Exclusive Club Member on the 29th December 2007. Ray joined the 100k Club when the program commenced in May 2007 and after 68 swim sessions Ray completed the 100k challenge.
